Bonus! Skin Commandment 11: Give your neck, hands, and eyes some TLC.

Many people don’t know this until its too late, but the neck , hands, and eyes often show signs of aging more quickly and easily than the face will. Loss of skin elasticity and moisture, age spots, and loss of underlying support from fat and collagen make it very obvious that we aren't as young as we used to be. By being proactive in the battle against the clock, signs of aging can not only be minimized, but they can even be reversed.

While cleansing the face, the neck and upper chest, or décolleté as we Estheticians call it, should always be included. Never rub or tug on skin when drying. The key is to gently pat skin dry with a soft cloth. Be super gentle around the eyes, since this is the thinnest skin on the body, and be sure to apply eye cream using the ring fingers with a light patting motion. Apply serums to these areas too, especially your antioxidants and retinol solutions, just as long as it is recommended by the manufacturer and the products aren't causing irritation. Finally, be sure to provide these areas with sun protection, since we know that 90% of extrinsic aging is caused by the sun.

We don't have to look 10 or 20 years younger than our age to look our best. And let's face it, most of us will have to do a bit of work to keep up our good looks as the years go by. However, we can certainly enjoy the process by getting monthly skin maintenance treatments and treating our faces kindly for representing us well every day. Have a wonderful day, Beauties!
